Duck season like other seasonal events such as deer season and fishing to name a few has always been looked forward to with great anticipation. Duck Season gives people a chance to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. Four-wheeling, horseback riding, camping, and hiking are only the beginnings of many activate awaiting the adventurer for Duck season. Typically Duck season opens around Sept through Jan., depending on the regions. The length of the season will vary as well, but the population of the ducks can also determine the length of the season.
Larger populations can keep the Duck season open longer. In some regions the type of duck may also require a longer Duck season as well because some ducks are considered pest and require greater attention. Duck season is often a family event and with all the activities that are part of the season it’s easy to see why. The main reason for such family unity is because while at home everyone has a different agenda. But in the great outdoors the family really comes together as a cohesive unit. One of the best things about duck season is camping, which can consist of a motor home, a pull behind (camper) or roughing it in a tent.
The conveniences of a motor home are much like being at home, just on a smaller scale. You’ll have TV, a kitchen, even a shower. You can go from the driver seat right into the camper section, without getting out of the vehicle and having to walk outside in the elements. With this arrangement there is no need for any addition hook-ups, although some people will choose to pull an extra vehicle behind their motor home. Some people choose the pull behind option meaning they choose to pull their camper behind their vehicle; this allows them to park their camper at the Duck season site, and detach their vehicle giving them the freedom to move around in their vehicle without the larger feel of the motor home.
Campers, like motor homes have many conveniences of home. Considered real Duck season camping, the last option is the camper who chooses the tent. This option leaves behind all the modern conveniences of home with the exception of a few hand held devises (cell phones, gps, mp3, etc.). This allows you the freedom to move about without being tied to a camper or motor home. When it’s time to change your Duck season location, one can easily break down a campsite in minutes, have it loaded onto a four-wheeler, pack horse, or just backpack it to your next Duck season location. Some drawbacks are of course is the rain seeping in or under your tent, but most just call this all part of the Duck season adventure and are never slowed down. In summary, the Duck season can be one of the greatest family outings, with enough adventure to wow every member of the family enough to look forward to the next Duck season. So if you haven’t been to a Duck season event or a similar outing, then it’s time! Staying at any Duck season site is always relaxing.
